Deeply rooted in the Community

Service Partners

Since 2009 Interface has been successfully helping at-risk children and adults in underserved communities by providing schools and shelters with professional counseling and education services.

Yellowstone Academy (, a faith-based pre-K-through-8th-grade school in the Third Ward, provides education with empowering intellectual and spiritual guidance for children from low-income families. An Interface-Samaritan counselor works with children twice a week, providing a safe place to work through anger, grief, sadness, and frustration, offering them coping skills to handle the difficult circumstances they face.

The Chinquapin School (, a college-prep school for low-income Houston-area youth, is privately funded to ensure students are enrolled at rates affordable to their families. An Interface-Samaritan counselor provides counseling about performance, behavior, eating disorders, grief, loss, relationships, and physical abuse. The students and their parents have direct access to quality mental health services in a familiar setting.

Mercy Street (, an outreach of Chapelwood United Methodist Church and a "safe harbor" ministry for people in recovery, provides a Saturday night worship community with child care and podcasts. Mercy Street is also active in outreach and personal spiritual guidance. Interface is their reference point for providing critical counseling services to those in recovery from addiction and other issues.

Westside Homeless Partnership in Spring Branch ( provides a unique 9-month program of customized case management for families who are “situationally” homeless or on the verge of homelessness. A bilingual counselor from Interface-Samaritan works with adults to help them achieve higher rates of success as they re-enter the working world and become productive members of the community.

Santa Maria Hostel (, a counseling, housing, and addiction-treatment center for women, provides various services including the women veterans' program VIEWS (Veteran Initiative Empowering Women's Stability, Skills, and Self-Determination). Interface leads three treatment programs for their veterans and other resident clients.

Star of Hope Mission (, a Christian homeless community for men, women, and families, supplies basic needs and conducts structured programs to nurture spiritual growth, addiction recovery, and vocational/educational planning. Our Clinical Director provides education and training to the caregiving staff.
